QUEBEC CITY, June 2, 2014 / CNW Telbec / – The Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Montreal region, Robert Poëti, is pleased to announce the release of a new TV campaign on the safety corridor. The campaign, which runs until 22 June, aims to road users aware of the fact that the tow vehicle and monitoring are among the six types of vehicles covered by the operation of the safety corridor. Others are police vehicles, ambulances, vehicles of a fire department vehicles and road control Québec.
Entry into force there nearly two years, the operation of the safety corridor ensures the safety of workers who work on or adjacent to the road and that of any other person who is in the same place. Today, if 61% of drivers know how to perform the maneuver, and a high proportion knows it applies in the presence of emergency vehicles (95% for police cars, 85% for ambulances and 62% for fire vehicles), they are less aware of the fact that it also applies in the presence of other types of vehicles, including tow trucks (47%) and vehicle monitoring (15%).

When performing the operation of the safety corridor
When an emergency vehicle or tow truck is stopped and its flashing lights or flashing lights are activated, a driver must create a security corridor slowing down and away as possible from the stationary vehicle after ascertaining can do so safely.
