“We can never replace the loved ones who perished in the disaster of 6 July 2013. However, like the entire population of Quebec, the Government intends to maintain its support for Méganticois. The resumption of normal life in Lac-Mégantic is a priority for our government. This is why we offer ongoing support to the City and its victims, “assured Minister Paradis.
Specifically, the financial assistance of $ 60 million to help compensate victims, to allow the reconstruction of the city center, the shopping area and the revitalization of Fatima sector.
“Nearly a year after the tragedy that shocked the entire province, we are aware of the urgency to act. Today’s announcement reflects the government’s desire to be responsive to the concerns and anxieties experienced by the population of Lac-Mégantic and meet their expectations, “said MP Bolduc.
The exceptional nature of the current situation means that the assistance of the Department of Public Safety and financial compensation measures for reconstruction and recovery programs may not be sufficient to meet the needs of the City of Lac-Megantic citizens who live there as well as economic traders. These measures were consistently complement the intervention of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Fight against climate change.
“I welcome the decision of the Quebec government to take action to address the different needs in the city center. This step will clarify the actions to be taken by the various actors in the future. Moreover, funds for the reconstruction of the order of $ 35 million were announced on 5 December 2013 by the Government of Canada . Citizens can be seen that the different levels of government work together to help rebuild Lac-Mégantic, properly and promptly to enable the fullest possible extent, a return to a peaceful and normal life, “said Christian Paradis , MP Mégantic-Maple and Minister for International Development and the Francophonie.
“The effort by the government since the events for the benefit of Méganticois effort represents an estimated $ 409 million to date amount. This considerable effort is a clear message of our government and, through him, of all Quebecois to support a community that has been proven exceptional way, “concluded Minister Moreau.

QUEBEC CITY, June 25, 2014 / CNW Telbec / – The Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Montreal region, Robert Poëti, welcomes the ratification today by the governments of Canada and Quebec, the new Fund agreement of the gas tax. This administrative agreement, which covers the period from 1 st April 2014 to 1 st April 2024, defines the roles and responsibilities of the parties relating to the administration of the Fund tax on gasoline.
As announced today, the Government of Quebec will have $ 500 million per year to support infrastructure projects, including a minimum of $ 100 million for capital projects in public transportation.
Among the projects eligible municipal transport under the agreement, there are projects of transit and local roads, plus projects involving roads.
“This agreement confirms the sustainability of financing development projects in municipal transportation in Quebec over the next 10 years. Several administrations of transport, including transport companies, it is a clear signal that they will be supported by stable funding in their municipal investment projects to improve infrastructure in the next decade. Like this scrutinizing dog passers who tried to check every branch and leaves she had ,sometimes even pee on her , these jolly and playful squirrel who runs over her fragile sprout to catch the falling nuts from the nearby pine tree, the friendly turtle bugs that greeted her as she gracefully pass by to enjoy the short spring sunshine and the amazing hum and whispers of bumble bees and butterflies that kiss her and help her out of her pollens to share to others the great perfume smell, the least she could offer to ease the tiring day of every breathing creature that comes her territory. Not to mention what winter snow and breezy fall temperature killing all the small branches and leaves beautifully showed to everyone during spring and summer.
